Regular season wrap up.

USA Pac West

The 2014 regular season is in the books with the exception of a make up game between the Bakersfield Sharks and East LA Spartans being the only game on deck this weekend with no play off implications; lets get down to business.

#1 So Cal Elite 9-0 Pac West, 3-0 Southern Division, 10-0 Overall

The Elite won the showdown in week 9 vs. the High Desert Rams 26-14 to finish the regular undefeated as well as home field advantage through the Pac West Championship game. The Elite are the undisputed #1 team and all signs point towards a rematch with the Rams in the Pac West Championship game.

#2 High Desert Rams 8-1 overall, 4-0 Northern Division

The Rams came out on the short end of a hard fought game in week 9, but now it’s time for them to get back in the lab and work on Rams vs. Elite II in the Pac West Championship game, however before then they have to go through the winner of the Skyhawks vs. Sharks game for the Northern Division championship.

#3 Santa Clarita Skyhawks 6-2-1 overall, 3-1 Northern Division

The Skyhawks only suffered 2 losses all season long and both of those teams were division champions, as the clear cut #3 the Skyhawks are poised to make a run in the play offs, but before we start talking championships or rematches they have one more dance with the Bakersfield Sharks in the Wild Card Play-Off Round. The question now is how will the Skyhawks bounce back after their regular season ending tie with the Southeast Pirates?

#4 Southeast Pirates 3-5-1 overall,2-1 Southern Division

The Pirates have been steadiy improving as the season has progressed and despite losing to the Rams in back to back weeks followed by a 32-32 tie with the Skyhawks in the regular season you might say the Pirates are hitting their stride. Due to the Falcons ceasing operations for the time being the Spartans were the winner of the win and your in game vs. the Hi Desert Heat so the Pirates will be hosting the Spartans in what should be on paper a tune up for the Southern Division Championship game vs. the Elite.

#5 Bakersfield Sharks 4-5 Pac West, 1-3 Northern Division, 5-5 overall

The Sharks have had an up and down season on and off the field but have managed to hang tough against both the Rams and Skyhawks in previous encounters and that is an important fact simply because they need to go through both Santa Clarita and High Desert to reach the Pac West Championship game, but before they begin their play off run, they have one more game against the East LA Spartans to prepare for the play offs.

#6 East LA Spartans 1-8 Pac West, 0-5 Southern Division, 2-8 overall

The growing pains of the East LA Spartans were all worth it as they survived the regular season and won a play in game against the Hi Desert Heat to punch their ticket to San Diego to face the Southeast Pirates in the wild card round of the play-offs. The Spartans are hosting a make up game against the Sharks this coming weekend, it’s an opportunity for them to build some much needed momentum before facing the Pirates.

#7 Hi Desert Heat 1-8 Pac West, 0-4 Northern Division

The Heat were another 1st year franchise and definitely took their lumps, but they steadily improved all season and are looking to return next season stronger and with the goal of reaching the play offs. The Heat have top notch game day presentation and hospitality and we look forward to them rebuilding this off season and being a player next year in the Pac West play off race.
