Santa Clarita, CA – The host Santa Clarita Skyhawks (5-0) stayed undefeated with a gritty 21-6 victory over the visiting East L.A. Spartans (1-3).

The Skyhawks would get on the board with 4 minutes to play in the opening Quarter when QB Drevontae Armstrong found his brother WR DreQuanne Armstrong from 10 yards out to go up 7-0.

Minn US Armstrong would add to the lead with a spectacular 76-yard TD run to open the second Quarter and give the home team a 14-0 advantage at halftime.

Both Defenses settled in and played solid in the 3rd Quarter before Santa Clarita’s Armstrong would find WR Chris Booney G Duvallwith an 11-yard TD pass to put the hosts up 21-0 with just 10 minutes left in the 4th.

But East L.A. rose up off the turf and responded immediately with a quick one-play 36-yard TD pass drive after a long Kickoff Return. That would make the score 21-6 with the Spartans trailing by 15 points with 9 minutes remaining in the game.

That would be all they could muster as the Skyhawks Defense then stepped up and closed out the win at home.
